How to Find Any Discord User ID (Enable Developer Mode)
Every Discord account, bot, server, channel, and message is identified by a unique numerical identifier called a Snowflake. Follow these three quick steps in your Discord client to copy any user's ID:
Understanding Discord Snowflake IDs & Creation Timestamps
Discord does not use random or sequential integers for user IDs. Instead, they use Twitter-style 64-bit Snowflake IDs that encode the timestamp of creation into the ID itself. The first 42 bits represent the milliseconds elapsed since the custom Discord Epoch (January 1, 2015, midnight UTC: 1420070400000).
Using binary right-shift arithmetic: timestamp = (Snowflake >> 22) + 1420070400000. This mathematical formula allows ModMate to reveal the exact second and millisecond any Discord user joined Discord without needing access to private account data.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our Discord lookup tool queries Discord's official API using any 17-20 digit Snowflake ID. It extracts all publicly available profile data, including high-resolution avatars (PNG, WebP, GIF), custom banners, account creation dates, badges, and developer flags.
In Discord, open User Settings → Advanced → toggle on "Developer Mode". Then, right-click on any user's avatar or name (or tap their profile on mobile and press the three dots) and click "Copy User ID". Paste that 17-20 digit number into this lookup tool.
A Discord Snowflake is a unique 64-bit integer assigned to every user, channel, server, and message on Discord. Because the first 42 bits represent the number of milliseconds since Discord's epoch (January 1, 2015), any Snowflake ID can be mathematically decoded into the exact millisecond the account was created.
Yes, if the user shares a mutual server with ModMate. However, Discord's global public API restricts arbitrary user searches by username to prevent automated spam and mass member scraping. For any user outside mutual servers, you must use their 17-20 digit Discord Snowflake ID.
Yes. Discord User IDs and public profiles (avatar, banner, badges, creation date) are public data provided directly by Discord's official API. Looking up an ID does not notify the user, access private messages, or violate Discord's Terms of Service.
It is 100% mathematically exact down to the millisecond. Because the creation timestamp is permanently embedded in the 64-bit Snowflake ID itself, it cannot be spoofed, altered, or manipulated.
When you look up an account with an animated avatar or custom banner, ModMate detects the animated hash and provides direct download links in GIF, PNG, and WebP formats in maximum resolution (1024×1024).
