Society collapsed in a day. The lifeblood of industrial society, fuel, was cut off. First went industry. Then the offices. Then the commercial sector. Then unanimously, every city, falling in on itself into a pit of hell by sunset.
A new world formed within a week, and set in by the new moon. A world forever changing hands, forever at conflict between the maddest and the modest, the fickle and the stable, the brutal and the scarred.
Nevada has been in this flux for that 25 years. Settlements rise, buffered by hundreds of miles of desert. Marauders rove those hundreds of miles to bite at their stems. Its a coin-flip on the winner. Their tire treads will stick for a few years, before the sands of time blow back over, and all that's left is some rotten wood and a burnt out wreck.
